Status: Exempt
Pay Scale: $42,000 – $48,000 and commensurate with experience

Marymount seeks to hire an experienced Substitute Spanish Teacher who inspires a love of language and culture and is committed to creating an engaging, inclusive learning environment for high school students.
Position Overview:
The Teacher is a full-time teacher and member of the Modern Language Department, reporting to the Department Chair. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment where value is placed on the skills and passions of the instructor.
Responsibilities:
- Implement a challenging curriculum for students to master the four skills of language learning: listening, speaking, reading, and writing
- Implement project-based learning to focus on student-driven discovery and exploration of Latin American and Spanish culture, or other cultures as applicable for language
- Utilize differentiated instruction to meet student needs
- Incorporate the use of technology in the classroom to enhance student learning
- Establish an immersive language-learning classroom where students develop proficiency in the target language
- Compose varied assessments to measure student progress and to evaluate the effectiveness of lessons
- Maintain accurate grading, attendance, and academic records
- Offer collaborative and individual learning opportunities that support student growth
- Serve as grade-level advisor
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
- Uphold school policies and expectations for student behavior and academic integrity
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, World Languages, Education, or a relevant field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum three (3) years of previous teaching experience, preferably at the high school level
- Strong background and understanding of teaching the Spanish language
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to engage and motivate adolescent learners
- Experience integrating technology into the classroom
