The Wesley School, established in 1999, is a co-ed K-8 independent day school in North Hollywood. Nurturing a community of belonging is at the core of everything we do. The After-School Care (LEAP) Supervisor is the face of our Wesley extended day After-School program with the responsibility for organization, programming, staff, and student management.The LEAP Supervisor reports directly to the After School Programs Mentor.

The responsibilities of the LEAP Supervisor include, but are not limited to the list below:

Regularly meet with After School Programs Mentor
Coordinate LEAP Assistants’ scheduling for supervision and activities, including assigning staff to duties such as LEAP check-in, Enrichment carpool, and specific activities with particular grade levels. Enrichment check-in, Enrichment carpool, and Study Hall
Manage the LEAP team and set a daily game plan and expectations for all of the other LEAP employees. This includes assigning jobs, locations, & roles for each shift, and also dismissing team members on a rotating basis as the number of students decreases by the hour.
Coordinate staff and activities for school year Camp days
Communicate with Enrichment Coordinator regarding any concerns or needs for the program
Communicate with parents of LEAP students as needed
Complete incident reports and communicate incidents to the After School Programs Mentor expediently
Work with Student Support Services to learn strategies that may suƒpport children’s learning or behavior in LEAP
Remain with any children who have not been picked up by the end of LEAP (generally 6p); report those incidences to the After School Programs Mentor
Coordinate with the Athletic Coordinator on the use of yard space; coordinate with the Operations Coordinator and teachers on the use of indoor spaces
Create and maintain a budget for LEAP supplies; work with the Receptionist and Athletic Coordinator to maintain supplies
Ensure that all supplies are organized and cleaned up by 6:00 pm
Work with the After School Programs Mentor to promote extended day programs
Attend faculty meetings when appropriate and necessary
Support the School and its leadership

Working Environment: Sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Light to moderate lifting (up to 30 pounds). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and sound hearing. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The ability to speak clearly and coherently is also required. Reaching, kneeling, pulling, pushing, bending, crawling, walking, running, jumping, writing, and keyboarding.

Finally, in the spirit of being a professional member of this community, many of the responsibilities of the position are associated with obligations to engage in school work on evenings, weekends, and summers as necessary, to satisfy school deadlines and the expression of the school’s commitments and initiatives. These obligations include but are not limited to a variety of evening events to engage with families, planning of lessons and units as well as assessment of student learning, documentation of the same including report cards and communication with families, and ongoing professional learning. In each instance the school will exert its best efforts to be supportive of and responsive to your needs and challenges.

Hours Variable:

Monday – Thursday: 2:45 pm to 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm, depending on student attendance Friday: 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm, depending on student attendance.                  With an addition of 60 minutes a day to check and respond to emails.

Hourly Range: $25-$33

Experience working with children preferred.
