WNS is looking for an HR Manager to lead our HR team! You will take ownership of all HR matters across the school from recruitment to wage reviews, disciplinary action, and learning and development. You should have excellent people skills, applicable experience working in the HR world and extensive legal knowledge of local and state compliance.  All WNS employees are expected to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage and support all Human Resource needs of the School.
Manage the school’s HRIS system Paycom and serve as primary contact for employees; available for set up, questions and execution.
Manage, administer and maintain the School’s employee benefits, policies and personnel forms, and recommend changes as needed; liaison with benefits broker, Bolton & Co. Process benefits enrollments and changes, including annual renewals and Open Enrollment; review and verify accuracy of health insurance carriers’ invoices monthly.
Advise and consult with Heads of School, Senior Staff and outside legal counsel to resolve and/or diffuse disciplinary matters; oversee and directly engage in the resolution of delicate personnel matters and seek at all times to protect the School’s best interest.
Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding. Champion the onboarding process by ensuring that it’s high-quality and up to date, and provide clarity and connection for employees so their roles serve the overall business vision.
Oversee new employee orientation, onboarding program, and benefits enrollment.  Monitor new employee background checks, I-9 compliance, etc.; coordinate with Tech. and other departments as needed.
Develop, implement and maintain procedures to comply with all applicable employment regulations (FSLA, FMLA, CFRA, ERISA) as well as Federal and State labor laws.
Monitor and advise employees regarding insurance claims related to worker’s compensation, disability, pregnancy disability and family medical leave; coordinate sick leave and state benefits.
Track employees’ use of paid sick leave, personal time and vacation.
Maintain Employee Handbook; update annually each summer and at other times as needed.
Manage COBRA administration through IGOE; review IGOE reports and invoices monthly.
Coordinate with Head of School to prepare faculty and staff employment agreements: including ACE Plus instructors, academic stipends, and coaches; oversee correct FLSA classification of jobs.
Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations
Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution
Maintain secure and confidential human resource files and records.
Regularly attend professional conferences/webinars/workshops to remain current on best human resources practices and labor laws.
Other duties as assigned by the Head of School or CFO.

Experience and Qualifications:

BA degree required
2+ years of experience in HR related position
SHRM certification preferred
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and an ethical mindset
Comfortable multitasking and working independently with flexibility/adaptability
Excellent strategic, analytical and problem solving ability; demonstrated organizational and project management skills
Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
Experience in following and maintaining workplace privacy
Willingness to attend webinars, seminars, and other training opportunities to understand and develop confidence and competence in:
HR management tasks (e.g., benefits/plan document preparation, wage and hour issues, and complex disciplinary actions)
Knowledge of COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, FLSA and related state and federal employment regulations
Current California law related to employment practices

Compensation: This is a full time, twelve month position. Anticipated base compensation is between $75,000-$85,000 depending on relevant experience.
