World History Teacher, 2023-24

The Opportunity

Flintridge Prep seeks an engaging, enthusiastic, hardworking history teacher who thrives on helping students challenge themselves and grow their understanding of the world around them.


Primary duties will consist of but are not limited to the following:

– Teach five classes, of which the majority will likely be ninth grade World History; experience teaching AP U.S. Government and/or U.S. History is a plus

– Fulfill all professional responsibilities, such as chaperoning on-campus events, participating in an annual outdoor education overnight trip, attending faculty meetings, assessing students thoughtfully, and contributing to departmental discussions

–  Participate actively in the life of the school through a substantial extracurricular activity, such as Mock Trial or a similar club

– Visibly support the school’s mission, vision, Honor Code, and strategic priorities

–  Engage in meaningful, school-funded professional growth to develop further as a teacher

Desired Qualifications

–  Has experience working with and a deep appreciation of adolescents and the many ways they learn

–  Has at least a bachelor’s degree in history or a related field

–  Has demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging work

–  Brings a flexible, innovative, can-do approach to teaching

–  Enjoys collaborating with colleagues
